Alumier MD Peels remove the outer dead layers of the stratum corneum (skin). This clears dull, sallow skin and aids better absorption of the after-care products given to you as part of your peel (included in the price). Your skin care professional can customise the peel according to your skin profile and concerns.

Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium, or deep. The strength of a chemical peel is determined by the type of ingredients used, their concentrations and the pH of the formulation. Superficial peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis (top layer of skin). Medium-depth peels treat through the lower dermis levels (top 3/4 layers), and deep peels will create more peeling down to the lower levels of the skin, addressing more advanced skin concerns. All the peels will reveal fresher, younger skin underneath and result in a smoother and more radiant glow that can help shrink pores, reduce scars and clear darker patches.

We recommend a course of 3-6 Chemical Peels and advise coming in monthly for each peel to ensure your skin is healthy, glowing and optimised within three months of visiting us.

Our skin care specialist will thoroughly analyse your skin and recommend a personal treatment program to address your skin concerns. The treatment will be offered with home care products. The home care creams work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of the skin. We offer the Radiance Clear peel to tackle congestion and acne, the Glow peel to tackle pigmentation and the Rejuvenation peel to tackle ageing skin with poor texture.

Your AlumierMD Chemical Peel appointment will take approximately 45 Minutes. Your skin will be prepped, and the peel will be applied. All Chemical Peels will be customised to the patient’s skin tolerance and concerns. Some tingling and heat can be felt on application, and your practitioner will make this as comfortable as possible. However, this is a normal sensation for light to medium depth Chemical Peels.

Once the Peel is finished, you will be given after-care instructions that you must closely follow for several days until the healing process is complete. Your skin may be pink, and some tightness and peeling may occur for approximately seven days post-treatment. The peeling will not stop you from going about your normal daily actives and can be covered nicely with the AlumierMD tinted SPF. The peeling process is normally gentle for these peels; however, some skin types may accelerate in peeling, and some may not peel at all. Please don’t worry if there is no peel, as your skin will still be getting all the benefits from the peel. These treatments are not all about peeling but also stimulating cellular repair at deeper levels on the face.
